Merlin360 Real Time Building Security TM Identifies Potential Security Breaches “before” they occur.
The Merlin360 ultrasonic system tracks people and high value assets in real time within buildings; comparable to an indoor GPS system it identifies the location of all staff and portable assets to within a specific room or area. Unlike traditional swipe card access control systems which are susceptible to security breaches by “tailgating” (people following others through a doorway once open) the Merlin360 system is able to recognise which side of the doorway personnel are on and whether their presence is permitted at that location.
The Merlin360 ID badge, which is worn by all personnel and assets, broadcasts its location to detectors located in the ceiling, the detectors pinpoint the badge location and relay this information to the main system. The system monitors and controls all access privileges, again in real time. When someone or something approaches an area where they do not have legitimate access an alarm can be activated, if they enter the area security can be alerted to their specific location and the door can be locked automatically.
The Merlin360TM system is unique in automatic identification for having low cost, long-range ultrasonic badges. The badges transmit a unique ID, using a 40 KHz ultrasonic signal which is outside the audible frequency range of humans, to detectors located in the ceilings of the building.
The system provides a cost effective solution that can be directly connected to legacy security access control panels and simultaneously run on a network backbone. The system is flexible enough to support multiple applications for people and assets. System data can be integrated with live and recorded streaming video on a multi-user browser display platform for both casual viewing and industrial requirements.
