The University of Hull Logistics Institute (UHLI) is a world class centre of excellence in global logistics, supply chain management and related technologies. Following an extensive product testing and evaluation process The University of Hull selected the Merlin 360 Ultrasound Positioning System. The system is installed alongside best practice/best of breed technologies. The system will enable the institute to maximise utlilisation of portable assets and space, it will also enable them to measure operational efficiencies within the buildings.
The system is operated via Merlin’s integrated building management system which monitors and controls access/utilisation of all portable equipment and areas within the buildings.

The system provides real peace of mind to workers/visitors while they are on the premises, if workers feel threatened they would immediately activate a panic alarm, the system will activate the building alarm, page members of staff with the real time location of the incident and notify all personnel of the specific location.
The system provides real-time monitoring of people. The system provides a range of alerts such as unauthorised access or unscheduled departure for a particular zone.
The system is seen as providing 21st century technology to worker safety.
